No doubt some of you will have just had a busy weekend of charity moonwalking on Saturday night…or defending yourself from computer viruses..or getting a tan….or studying….trying to keep the mind occupied before the big T3 play-off on Sunday. Of course there was also Eurovision for some of us….and all the yodelling (quite frankly, taking part in the T3 play-off was a welcome relief from the memory.)
Everyone probably knows by now that T3 won their play-off against a very resilient and tactically astute City 4 team, marshalled by Grand Maester Rick. With Tigers having raced out to an early 6-0 lead with the Sam and Caitlin show, City did very well to come back into it in the second half, reducing the deficit to 2 by the end. 8-6 the final score with 3 for Sam, 2 for Caitlin (long lines galore!) and a cute little drop-off from Steve (the clincher as it turns out.) Both teams had lots of support but it was ultimately the coaches wot won it with their wise words from the sidelines….and the vuvuzela or course! Don’t be surprised to see City 4 promoted next season – a good team who could hold their own in the higher division.
Just as an aside, Lions 1 beat Phoenix 2 in the other play-off.
There is a slight change to the training schedule. We will have normal training Wed 17th but there will be now be a final, short, fun, chatty session on Wed 24th too – 1930-2100hrs. Please make yourselves available for that as the committee would like to discuss with you our plans for the coming months.
Wed 31st is free and we’ll see if anyone fancies doing something else that evening.
Wed 7th June 1930-2100hrs is outdoor training! It’s £2.00 per session (bring the cash with you please) and it’s here http://www.cambridge.org/casscentre/location.htm or Shaftsbury Road CB2 8BS. We will have our weather watchers on alert and will confirm just before or on the day if it’s cancelled due to rain or not.
Not much else to add apart from our new club anthem for the coming season https://youtu.be/ZSHc7iDuBCQ . Enjoy (if you can.)
