Was it a loss? Was it a draw? No, it was a narrow victory for the SERL team away to the youngsters of Tornadoes 2 at the weekend. Coasting along nicely for most of the match, the team eased off on the accelerator in the second half and gave a few budding starlets their chance to shine. The starlets happened to be on ther other team though and it was a close-run thing in the end, with a re-count showing Tigers had indeed won 19-18. At least we are back to winning ways – grinding out the victories when not on top form – the mark of winners!
T2 had a run-out at the weekend too – hoping to follow up T1’s victory against Uni last weekend with the same result. The heat was on from the start (literally, as it was about 25 degrees in the hall – good for Jess’s cold.) Ross scored ‘the best goal of my career’ he said; Chris R had a nap on the floor; Billy was covered in sweat – mainly from the Uni girl who was glued to her; the hunt for Keira’s goal continues ….and a squeals of delight from Hana to celebrate scoring. It was all very nice and pleasant but just not enough in the end as a full-strength Uni team won 15-11. No half-term holidays there.
There is training in half term just so you know…and LOTS of games coming up this week:
